Stonking reviews...

The Quack Quack CD is seeping out to a wide variety of listeners and attracting many inquisitive ears. A couple of great reviews have recently been written, here are some snippets from them...

'Essentially, some CDs don't sound like Quack Quack's EP. In fact, no CDs sound like this one. As a writer not well versed in very experimental, instrumental indie music, reference points for this EP are few and far between. No matter, you don't need anything to compare a record to when something in your guts just says to you, "this is good, very good".
Sandman magazine, December 2005

'QQ is a minimal beast, but the economy of music (nothing too fancy, no pointless notes or sounds, every texture seemingly carefully chosen) makes the record a delight to stick on. It's not too long (in fact the brevity is sublime), it's not too produced (the sound is predictably spot-on), it's not too ambitious or overwrought (every song progresses as far as feels absolutely right), it certainly isn't slapdash or careless (not a note out of place). It just hits a number of buttons really, really well.'

Tour reminder...

Some last minute news before we head on tour with Quack Quack...

Tomorrow night will be their first gig of the tour and is in Derby at The Mist. They are playing with one of our favorite bands at the moment, The Dust Collectors and quite possibly the lovely Twinkie. Friday night is in Cardiff at The Model Inn with Jones O'Conner Group and Amb, two bands that we can't wait to see and hear. Then down to the seaside for a house gig in Brighton with I'm Being Good and back up to the big smoke for a close knit Sunday evening gig at The Betsey Trotwood.Their final two gigs see a return to Oxford after a mighty and well received performance at this years Audioscope festival and the final night will be close to home in Sheffield at The Cricketers Arms.

If you live close to or in any of these wonderful towns then please do try to come along. Quack Quack have some new songs which are totally brilliant, even better then the old tunes...if that is possible? So you would be silly to miss them.
